We were excited and fortunate to have “inherited” a large cellar with vaulted ceilings, stone walls and built-in climate control. The cellar is rustic, romantic and large enough to house our small wine production as well as a spacious tasting area. The walls are adorned with Cowellfoto vineyard prints, adding a touch of nature and a reminder of the beauty of the Moselle landscape.
Our guests can sample the wines in the cellar, enjoying a glass and a light snack, or in the summer sit on the terrace with a view of the wooded slopes on the other side of the Mosel river.
With our small winery on the Mosel we have realized a dream that began many years ago in California. We lovingly handcraft our wines one step at a time, from the vineyard to the cellar.
The grapes come from old vineyards on the Moselle, which would no longer be cultivated without us. Every bottle of wine is a little treasure: high quality, one of a kind, and interesting. Our labels, like the wine, are the result of a creative and artistic process. Each year we ask an artist to give visual expression to our wines, as well as to the special features and characteristics of the Moselle region.
The art of viticulture and oenology is reflected in the label designs which are inspired by the landscape and inhabitants of the Moselle region.
With a glass of wine you can enjoy the art of wine and the art in the label.
The labels of the 2016 series were created by Bernadette Diemer. Her work and more information about the artist can be found at http:// www.luluillu.de.
